Writers will only, and can only be celebrated by READERS.
What is the fan base of book readers in the country? "Don't Answer, I don't know too."
Also, our way of education has crippled so many intelligent minds from knowing how to read. When people can not read, then writers can not really get celebrated.
The way out is to write illustratively for the average mind. The mind of an average Nigerian is not so developed, so when a book has been written with to many complex words it becomes a hard task for the reader. And then the reader gets bored and drops the book. (Reading is a task itself, so don't make it complex for someone who wants to have fun)
We must begin to write creatively to suite the audience out there... That's why our Music and Film industries are growing.
