The Book 'The Diagbosis' is a short story ‘ dedicated to the memory of Chinaza who we believe is happy where she is and in the best state of perfection anyone could possibly be.
Further dedication goes to the parents, who allowed me to write this story.
Also, with the permission of the parents; I dedicate this story to parents all over the world, who are going through the anguish, pain and isolation associated with raising kids born with medical complications and conditions.
strong textThe facts behind this story are true and real except one or two fictional inclusions. I have a first class knowledge of the story because I was a part of it, lived in it and saw it happen. I saw the pain, sorrow and anguish the parents went through, during Chinaza's short but eventful life on earth.
During the early moments of pregnancy, foetuses which are not well formed naturally abort themselves. That is the natural process, but a few manage to survive being aborted, and grow into full babies. That explains some of the reasons why certain babies are born with medical conditions.
Expectant mothers should also be careful of substances they feed on which can impair the formation process of foetuses.
Having another baby helped my sister healed faster from the tragic story, so I encourage parents going through this experience to consider having another child. A new addition to the family would make the couple reduce all their energy and focus on the ailing child and diffuse it across board. Also, a new baby would bring happy moments into their lives again.
For those living with the pain of raising a child with a medical condition; know that everyone has a cross to carry. Everyone has something they are battling with, so this situation is not peculiar to you. Good and evil move alongside each other. Learn to find joy and fulfilment in spite of this.
Life is a series of problems. Every time you solve one, another one is waiting to take its place. Not all of them are big, but are significant in God’s growth process for you. You know you are maturing when you begin to see the hand of God in the random, baffling, and seemingly pointless circumstances of life.
Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed.
It means that the damage no longer control our lives. Someone said, we do not suffer by accident and the unwounded soul has no resemblance to the rabbi and sometimes it takes great suffering to pierce the soul and open it up to greatness.
